A) You provide to us
•    Account & Profile: name, handle, email, phone (optional), country, language, avatar, bio.
•    Creator monetization: legal name, KYC/AML data (ID, proof of address), tax numbers, payout/bank or wallet details, billing address.
•    Advertisers: business name, registration/VAT details, billing contact, creative assets, campaign settings.
•    Content & interactions: videos, images, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, comments, reports/flags, messages to support.
•    Preferences & consents: marketing preferences, cookie settings, privacy choices.
B) Collected automatically
•    Device & app: device model, OS version, app version, device identifiers (incl. mobile ad IDs), crash logs.
•    Usage & diagnostics: pages/screens viewed, time on page, features used, search terms, referral source, ad views/clicks, approximate location (from IP), timestamps.
•    Network/technical: IP address, user-agent, SDK and cookie events, server logs, fraud/security signals (e.g., unusual traffic patterns).
C) From third parties
•    Login/identity: if you use social or federated login (depending on what you enable), we receive your basic profile info (per your settings).
•    Payments: payment processors share limited data to reconcile payments (status, masked card/bank info, transaction refs).
•    Anti-fraud / brand safety / KYC: verification providers and fraud-prevention partners.
•    Advertisers/measurement: aggregated campaign metrics, attribution events (non-sensitive).
We do not intentionally collect special-category data (e.g., health, religion). Please don’t upload it.

•    Reset mobile advertising IDs and limit ad tracking in device settings.

5) How we share information
We share data only as needed to run the Platform or where required by law:
•    Service providers (processors): hosting/CDNs, transcoding, analytics, anti-fraud, KYC/AML, payments, email/SMS, moderation, customer support. They act under contracts and must protect your data.
•    Advertisers & measurement partners: aggregated/pseudonymized performance metrics; we do not share your private messages or payout details with advertisers.
•    Other users/the public: anything you publish (channel name, videos, public comments) is public.
•    Legal/regulatory: courts, regulators, or law enforcement when required, or to protect users, our rights, and the Platform.
•    Business transfers: if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, data may transfer under the same privacy safeguards.
We do not sell personal information.
 
6) International transfers
We may store/process data in countries outside South Africa. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual protections) and limit access to staff/service providers who need it to perform their work.
 
7) How long we keep information (retention)
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above:
•    Account data: for your account’s lifetime, then a reasonable period for backups/disputes.
•    Monetization & finance: as required by tax/finance laws (typically 5–7 years).
•    Security logs & fraud data: typically 6–24 months, unless needed for investigations.
•    Content: until you delete it or your account, subject to backups, legal holds, and copies already shared/embedded.
When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize data.
 
8) Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, network protections, monitoring, audits). No system is 100% secure—keep your credentials private and report suspected breaches to support@nexuscity.tv.
 
9) Your privacy rights
Depending on your location (POPIA/GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to:
•    Access your personal information and receive a copy
•    Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
•    Delete information (subject to legal/contractual obligations)
•    Object to or restrict certain processing
•    Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
•    Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)
•    Complain to a regulator

10) Children
The Platform is for users 13+. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact support@nexuscity.tv so we can delete it.
 
11) Creator monetization & advertisers (privacy specifics)
Creators
•    We process KYC/AML, payout details, earnings, and tax data to pay you and comply with law.
•    We may hold or adjust earnings during fraud or policy reviews.
•    Your public channel/profile info and published content are visible to others.
Advertisers
•    We process business/billing info, campaign settings, and performance metrics.
•    We use anti-fraud tools to validate impressions/views/clicks.
•    We may share aggregated performance results with you for reporting/billing.
 
12) Automated decision-making & profiling
We use automated systems for content recommendations, spam/abuse detection, and ad delivery/measurement. These systems help keep the Platform safe and relevant. You can contact us for more info about how these systems affect you.
 
13) Third-party links and logins
The Platform may link to third-party sites/apps or offer social logins. Their privacy practices are separate—please read their policies.
 
14) Data breaches
If a breach creates a risk to your rights, we’ll notify you and/or the relevant regulator as required by law and take steps to reduce harm.
 
15) Your choices & controls
•    Account controls: update profile, change settings, manage notifications in the app or site.
•    Delete account: request deletion in-app or via support@nexuscity.tv. We’ll process subject to legal, security, and billing obligations (some data may be kept for backups, fraud prevention, and financial records).
•    Marketing: unsubscribe any time.
•    Cookies/SDKs: manage via browser and device settings; use in-app privacy controls.
 
16) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll notify you in the app or on the site. If you continue using the Platform after changes, you accept the updated policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Platform.
